About

My name is Alison Spath and I live in Rochester, NY with my husband and three children.  I had an unplanned cesarean with my oldest daughter in 2004, planned a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) with my second daughter that resulted in a repeat cesarean in 2006.  I had a successful VBA2C with my son in 2012.  We hired a doula for my second and third pregnancies and births and are eternally grateful for the care and support she provided to our family during that time.

Experience

Birth and VBAC Preparation

I’ve been active in the Rochester birth community since 2007.  I was the Chapter Leader of Greater Rochester International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) from 2007 through 2011.

Breastfeeding

I have been leading a breastfeeding support group in the Rochester area since 2008.  All three of my children were breastfed and have I years of experience supporting other women in their quest for a successful breastfeeding relationship.

Despite my experience and the choices I’ve made for myself and my family, please know that I am here to support your choices and do whatever I can to give you the best chance at achieving your ideal birth.
